The Center for Security Studies (KE.ME.A), in cooperation with the Piraeus Port Authority (OLP), the Cyprus Police and ADITESS Ltd, as part of its participation in the European project "SSEE - Shielding South East Europe from CBRN E Threats", implemented through the Internal Security Fund (ISF), Police and Union actions and is coordinated by KE.ME.A. (more information on http://ssee-project.eu ), organizes an info-day entitled "CBRN-E Threats in Southeast Europe: Challenges & Synergies between the EU and International Players" on Tuesday 18 June 2019 at 12: 00 in Brussels, at Info Point Europa: 1, rue Archimède - Place Schuman.
The basic approach of the project is to contribute to the objectives of the European Union's Internal Security Strategy 2015-2020 and the EU CBRN Action Plan. In particular, the program focuses on awareness-raising and training of front-line professionals (police, port, customs officers, etc.) of Greece and Cyprus on CBRN-E threats.
The purpose of this event is mainly to present the results of this project, as well as a further discussion on synergies between security and defense. This event will consist of 2 formal invited speakers from NATO and the EU (DG Home), as well as about 40-50 participants from relevant agencies and services.
